Routine bookkeeping work regularly requires moving through connected transaction chains. This release expands reviewed batch planning across sales, purchasing, and list maintenance in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Connected sales and payment flows
Invoices in a planned batch can now be generated directly from accepted estimates. Received customer payments allocate across invoices and available credits, while bank deposits sweep payments received within the same batch. On the purchasing side, bill payments route through the appropriate bank or credit card account with discount terms applied.
Batch reviews display the connections clearly, showing exactly which estimate an invoice originated from and which open invoices a payment settles.
Bulk transaction recoding with preflight verification
Cleanup operations now allow selecting transactions in bulk to apply header modifications, line recoding, or account reassignments. You can update customer, vendor, class, and location references across historical records.
Before any changes post, Zeno validates proposed modifications against live ledger state. If a transaction was edited in QuickBooks after the plan was generated, the apply operation halts with a clear explanation rather than overwriting concurrent work.
Spreadsheet exports with formula injection protection
Full plan details, review logs, and run histories can be exported as CSV spreadsheets for working paper archives. Exported text fields escape leading formula characters (=, +, -, @), preventing spreadsheet applications from executing untrusted text as calculations.
Improvements
- QuickBooks Desktop batches now support sales orders, inventory assemblies, and item receipts
- Reversal operations detect shared name dependencies and avoid deleting active records
- Balanced journal entries display debit totals instead of net zero amounts
- Account matching uses full hierarchical account paths to prevent false matches on shared child names
