Accounting APIs do not always store transactions exactly as submitted. When QuickBooks alters a submitted line account, drops a tracking class, or applies a payment to an unexpected invoice, bookkeepers need to know immediately. Zeno now performs read-back verification after every write to detect and flag ledger drift.
Immediate read-back audits
Every transaction posting now reads back the live document from QuickBooks immediately after writing. The recorded run compares the stored values against the reviewed plan: payee, account, line amounts, and class tracking. If QuickBooks modified any field during posting, the run flags the discrepancy and explains the difference on the working paper.
When a check fails, further automated actions in that conversation pause until a team member either reverses the run or logs an explanation acknowledging the change.
Governance for single-transaction actions
Batch transactions have always required human plan review. That governance now extends to single-transaction operations. Voiding or deleting posted entries, issuing invoices, reversing runs, and modifying company settings cannot be executed autonomously by an assistant. Every request stages on Today and executes only after human review.
Improvements
- Attachment verification compares document totals and dates against transaction records
- Run reversal safely mirrors posted transactions with full audit logging
- Tool results link directly to relevant console review pages
- Direct-write tools record verification proof against figures outside model output
