# Troubleshooting the firm workspace

> Where to look when sign-in, an AI client, a QuickBooks connection, a plan, or a bank connection stops moving.

Start on the page where the problem appears. Zeno keeps connection state on
**Clients** and **AI clients**, review failures on **Plans**, and posting
results on **Runs**.

## You cannot sign in

Zeno is invite-only. Sign in with the exact email address an owner added under
**Settings → Team**. An invite link does not grant access to a different
address.

Ask an owner to check the address and status on the Team page. They can resend
a pending invite or remove and add a misspelled address.

## An AI client has no Zeno tools

Start a new conversation or restart the client so it rereads its server list.
In ChatGPT, also enable the plugin for that conversation from the composer's
**+** menu — a developer-mode plugin starts each new chat switched off. In
Claude Code, run `/mcp` and check the `zenofirm` server.

Open **This firm → AI clients** in Zeno. A client appears there only after it
has completed browser approval. If it is absent, reconnect it from the install
link or command on that page. See [Connecting an AI client](/docs/cloud/clients#when-it-doesnt-connect)
for client-specific checks.

## A QuickBooks company is missing or stale

Open **Clients** and read the connection and last-sync columns.

* **Importing** means the first sync is still running. The progress panel can
stay open while you work elsewhere.
* **Disconnected** means Zeno cannot read or write the company. Reconnect it
through Intuit from the same row.
* An old sync time on a connected company calls for `qb_sync_mirror`. Pass
`rebuild: true` only when the mirrored data is wrong, such as after a company
  reset or restored backup.

Disconnecting stops access but keeps the client on the roster. **Remove** is a
separate action available after disconnecting; it deletes the roster entry and
mirrored books while keeping plans, verdicts, runs, and the work log.

## A plan will not apply

Read the refusal on the plan before preparing it again. Common causes include
a blocked name, a closed period, a duplicate, or a change made after approval.
Approval is pinned to the plan and its exclusions; an edit after approval
requires a new review.

If the trial ended, reads and prior records remain available but writes are
refused until an owner resumes the subscription under **Billing**.

## A bank connection has gone quiet

A bank may return an empty successful sync after its login expires. Open
**Settings → Bank connections** and look for a reconnect warning. Re-authenticating
keeps the connection's cursor and staged history.

If the connection is healthy, check that the discovered bank account is
enabled and mapped to the intended QuickBooks account. Unmapped accounts do
not stage transactions.

## Contact support

Use **Support** beside **Sign out** in the console. Include the company name,
the exact message, and a plan or run id when one is involved. The form sends
your name, email, firm, role, product build, and the page you came from. It does
not attach ledger data or conversations from an AI client.

For a security issue, email
[security@zenofirm.com](mailto:security@zenofirm.com) instead of the support
form.
