# The firm workspace

> The hosted workspace: the AI prepares each client's work, a person at the firm approves it, and QuickBooks stays the ledger.

The firm workspace organizes documents, recurring work, review, and firm
knowledge around each client. It connects to the accounting system the client
already uses instead of creating another general ledger.

## Bring your own agent

The same tool surface the workspace uses is exposed over MCP at
`https://api.zenofirm.com/mcp`, so Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, and
anything else that speaks remote MCP can work your firm's books the same way:
the client prepares, a person approves. [Connecting an AI client](/docs/cloud/clients)

## What remains in the ledger

QuickBooks remains authoritative for accounting semantics, balances,
transactions, and native reports. Zeno keeps labeled read models for fast
search and cross-client work, but never treats those copies as a shadow ledger.
